Wayne Henry Clarke, at age 87, of Norwood, Ontario passed away peacefully on May 26th after a battle with cancer. Wayne will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife Katherine of 63 years; his greatest joy in life, son Wade; daughter-in-law deboraH; and his beloved grandchildren Caeden, Levon and Finley. Wayne is pre-deceased by parents; Charlotte (Helen) Abbott (nee Williamson) and Gordan Clarke.
Wayne was born and grew up in Toronto. Wayne met Katherine and it was love at first sight. They were married in 1962 and began their life together. Eight years later they became a family with their son Wade. Wayne was so proud of Wade and he was his whole world. They lived in Toronto, Scarborough, Port Perry, Madoc and Durham Region.
Wayne worked as a furnace repairman, owned a restaurant/gas station at one point and for years worked for the city of Scarborough in sanitation. After he retired, Wayne and Katherine moved to Norwood where they enjoyed their senior years and became grandparents. Family was everything to Wayne. He loved his family. He loved his lifelong friends. Wayne will be greatly missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make a donation to Hospice Peterborough in Wayne’s name. There will not be a service. Instead, please play a song by George Jones or Patsy Cline or watch a movie with your loved ones.
