Ana "Linda" Hamilton (née Payne)

October 21, 1940 – July 11, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ana "Linda" Hamilton (née Payne), who passed away peacefully at sunrise on July 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family in her 86th year.

Predeceased by her parents Ross and Kathleen Payne (née Allan), and baby brother. Survived by her beloved husband of George "Wayne" Hamilton for more than 60 years. Mother of Julie (Greg), Kimberley (Byron), Jordan (Tanya), and Mark (Jocelyne). Loving Nana to Rachele, Robby (Mandy), Clareese, Ali, Jessie, Eric and Philip (Emma). 

Linda will be remembered for her kindness, positivity, and lifelong commitment to caring for others. She brought that same spirit to her career as a nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Peterborough. She had a deep love for music, singing in choirs, but nothing brought her more joy than laughter with family and friends.

The family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care she has received at both PRHC and, especially, Fairhaven, where the staff went out of their way to make her feel loved. 

A celebration of Linda's life will be held at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 1:00 PM.  Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Canadian Cancer Society, PRHC or Fairhaven Foundations.
