David S. Robertson

ROBERTSON, DAVID S:  We are deeply mourning the sudden loss of David S Robertson — a man whose presence made people laugh, feel welcome, was fiercely loyal, and charismatic to all. 

David was born on January 25, 1947, and throughout his life he created a deep connection with the family and friends in the Baptiste Lake Community and the Trillium Lakelands District School Board.  Whether through family gatherings, classroom humor, staff jokes and pranks, funny conversations, hard work, shared meals, stories told around a campfire, or simply sitting together on the cottage deck,  David had a way of making ordinary moments feel important.

The Robertson Cottage was more than a place to him — it was a reflection of who he was… welcoming, filled with laughter, stories, traditions, and memories that will continue long after today. We remember the many roles he carried with pride: husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, mentor, neighbor. And while each person here knew a slightly different version of David, the common thread was always the same: kindness, authenticity, humor, and love.

As we honor him today, may we also carry him forward — in the stories we continue to tell, the traditions we keep alive, the meals we share, the laughter we allow ourselves again, and the love we continue giving to one another.

He was the beloved husband of Donna Robertson. Loving father of Julie (and son-in-law Richard), and late son Brian (and daughter-in-law Eileen. Cherished grandfather of Melanie, Emma, Brooke, Max,  Lotus, and Tao. Dear brother to Shirley, Diane, and Carolyn, and brother in law to Catherine and Ron. David will fondly be remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family, many friends, and all whose lives he touched. 

Thank you, David, for your loyalty,  love, guidance,  humor, and your heart. You will be missed beyond words, remembered always, and loved forever.

We will be having a Life Celebration on July 4, 2026 at 2031 North Baptiste lake Road from 1-4pm where we will collectively honor, roast, and toast David.
