Suddenly at the Peterborough Regional Centre on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 with his family by his side at the age of 48.  Dear father of Dawson Hennessy.  Cherished son of John and Joan (nee Humphries).  Derek will be sadly missed by his brother Dan and his wife Ang, and their children Liam and Colby and by his common-law spouse Shawna and her two children Shaylin and Tyler.  Beloved grandson of Marion Humphries.  Derek will be remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. There will be a private graveside service held at HIGHLAND PARK CEMETERY.  In memory of Derek, and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Peterborough Humane Society would be appreciated by the family, and can be made through the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough.  Online condolences may be made at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com
