Gus Sheehan

Sheehan, Joseph Augustine (Gus) 1932 - Dec 5, 2022. We are saddened to announce the death of Gus at Hospice Peterborough surrounded by his devoted wife Ella (O’Brien) of 66 years, and loving family. Dear father of Susan Rhynold (Darrell), Donna O’Brien (Ian), Jane Scott (Steve), & Tom. Best ever Poppa to Caitlin, Josie & Maddie (Connor), RJ (Ayanna), and great-Poppa to Aliyah. Pre-deceased by father Joseph Sheehan, mother Adeline (Torpey-1942), Step mother Stella (Payment), brother Carl (Eileen), Mary Woodruff(Harvey), Margaret O’Brien (Joe). Will be missed by surviving siblings Bernard (Leona d), Gerard (Patricia), RoseAnne, Jim, Lenore Cartlidge (Dave d.), Julie Craib (Barry). Will be missed by in-laws Bernie Roque (Arnold), Francis Kimura (Don) & many nieces, nephews & friends.

Master plumber Local 401 Union & MCA, founding member of Apprenticeship program. Owner of Archibald & Richmond Mech for 10 years, retired from Goodfellow & Dougherty. Involved in Church League hockey & baseball, Atom Hockey Tournament, and long standing member of St Peter Cathedral & Knights of Columbus.

Gus will be missed for his great sense of humour and kindness

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Highland Park Funeral Centre on Thursday, December 8th from 1:00 to4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm  (Mask friendly visitation).  Funeral Mass in the Cathedral of St. Peter-In-Chains on Friday, December 9th at 10:30am   Reception to follow in St. Anne’s Parish Hall.  In memory of Gus and in lieu of flowers donations to Hospice Peterborough or the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
