Heinrich "Henry" Weitz

 Heinrich (Henry) Weitz,

March 12, 1926 – January 4, 2022

Loving husband of Marianne, predeceased, dear father to Wilma Townsend (James), Karin DesChamp (Ken), Alfred (Sylvia) both predeceased, and J.W. (Judy). Treasured sons-in-law, the late Robert “Weage” Fountain and Randy Robinson. Cherished grandfather, great grandfather, and great, great grandfather to many well-loved children

 Henry always stood with the underdogs, the marginalized, and the minorities. Often called the “Genius” by his friends and co-workers, his mental acuity remained sharp to the end as did his wonderful sense of humour.

 As a 17-year-old German soldier, he was sent to the front line of the western front for his anti-Hitler and anti-Nazi stance, he later found himself in a prisoner of war camp before being released at the end of WWll. After a few years, he then immigrated to Canada with his young family.

 Henry had a passion for his woodworking, bowling, and his vegetable garden. He will be remembered by family and friends for his kind heart, endless jokes, and the impish twinkle in his eye. 

Rest in peace, Henry. Your job is done!

A private family funeral will take place in the spring.
