Helen Leila (Mitchell) Hasenecker

Peacefully at Princess Gardens, Peterborough at the age of 95 years.

Lovingly remembered by daughters Suzy (Craig) Stout and Jane Warden.

Cherished Grammie of Michael (Laurie) Stout, Dr. Erin Stout, Charlie Warden and Alec Warden. Proud Great-Grammie of Isla Mae and Madelyn Marie Stout.

Predeceased by her son Paul Hasenecker, brother Bart Mitchell, and sister-in-law Marie (Gus) Baehrle; survived by her sister-in-law Marsha Mitchell.

Dear Aunt of Dr. Leanne Baehrle, Brad Mitchell and Dayna O’Brien.

Helen retired from management at Bell Canada with 30 years of service. She was a long-standing member of the Catholic Women’s League (65 years), church choir and an active volunteer at the Trillium Health Centre.

A doting "Grammie" and a world traveller, her hands were never idle! Yardwork, crosswords or a stimulating game of solitaire after reading her Toronto Star ...

Helen was a loyal family member and friend. Dedicated, loving, intelligent and responsible ...

A Funeral Mass will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, at St. Alphonsus Liquori Catholic Church.

A Celebration of Life Reception will occur on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m at Highland Park Funeral Centre.

The family wishes to send a sincere heartfelt ‘Thank you’ to Dr. Zaniewski, Jenn Ropertz and her ENTIRE TEAM at Princess Gardens.  Their care and compassion, especially over the past 2½ years, was very much appreciated!
