YEE, Hong Lim

Passed away in his 88th year, on Saturday, April 3rd 2021, at the Peterborough Regional Hospital Centre. Beloved husband of 63 years, to the late Helen Shi Nung Yee (nee Ma). Loved and remembered by his son Richard Yee (North York), daughter Jeany Yee, her husband Mark Shin (Mississauga), and cherished granddaughter Taylor Shin. Sadly missed by close relatives and friends. Son of the late Park Shung Yee and Tean Shi Yee (nee Tang).   Hong Lim came to Canada on April 3, 1951 as a teenager from Hoi Ping, China. He worked at his father’s Peterborough restaurant (Hollywood Cafe) in the 1950’s and 1960’s and started his own local business (Yee’s Chinese Food) in the early 1970’s. After retiring from his restaurant business in the early 1990s, he enjoyed marathon movie nights and sharing stories of his life experiences with granddaughter Taylor.  Due to COVID 19, there will be a private graveside service held at Highland Park Cemetery. Flowers may be sent to the Highland Park Cemetery on April 9, 2021. In memory of Hong, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society and Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
