Jacqueline Gail ("Jackie" or "Jake") Brown
Jacqueline Gail Brown, known affectionately as "Jackie" or "Jake," born in Welland, Ontario and having lived many years in Millbrook and most recently Peterborough, passed away peacefully at Hospice Peterborough. Following a period of declining health Jackie passed surrounded by the love of her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Jackie was the cherished daughter of the late Leonard and Doreen Dutrizac. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Greg Brown; her son, Martin Carrier; her sister, Carol Goddard and nephew, Gary Ressler.
She leaves behind her loving daughter, Michele Carrier, and her devoted grandsons, Jacob Collins, Lucas Collins, and Lincoln Collins, who brought her immense pride and joy. Jackie is also survived by her siblings, Katherine Koabel, David Dutrizac, and Loretta Greenlee, as well as her nieces, Glory Ressler, Jennifer Dutrizac, and nephews, John Dutrizac, Richard Koabel, and Beau Greenlee and Darryl Ressler along with many extended family members and friends.
A woman of grace, generosity, and quiet strength, Jackie was known for her kindness and her commitment to supporting others. As a private benefactor, she provided philanthropic support to causes close to her heart, often without seeking recognition, and has supported countless causes over the years.
Jackie supported Greg through the years with involvement in many pursuits, whether it be his music career, ownership of a restaurant in Millbrook or his operation of Greg Brown Financial Services. Even as she faced recent health challenges, she maintained her warm spirit, engaging personality, and wonderful sense of humour. She was especially known for her quick wit and her ability to laugh at herself—particularly when discussing her golf game.
Jackie was especially proud of the strength and determination her daughter Michele demonstrated throughout her life and treasured the close relationship they shared. She also shared an especially deep bond with her grandsons, Jacob, Lucas, and Lincoln, whose love, devotion, and steadfast presence in her life brought her immeasurable joy, comfort, and pride
Her legacy of caring and generosity will continue through her planned bequests to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre Foundation and Hospice Peterborough, reflecting her enduring commitment to her community.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
