Suddenly at home from cardiac arrest on Thursday, July 28, 2022,age 74. Jim was the beloved husband of Marie Elizabeth O'Connor (predeceased 2020), father of Rob O'Connor (predeceased 1989) and Clay Morin (predeceased 2020), grandfather of Nuin-Tara Morin, and best uncle and godfather of Jason Olver. He also leaves behind to mourn him his in-laws Kathy and Bob Green. The eldest of ten siblings, Jim was born into a 4th generation Otonabee farm family, the son of Joe and Camilla O'Connor (both predeceased). He taught for many years in grade schools in the Peterborough and Durham Separate School Boards and was known as a gifted teacher who went the extra mile for his students. Although he loved teaching Jim was never happier than when he was working on the land atop his favourite IH tractor. His smile and sense of humour will be remembered always by those who loved him. In keeping with Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church, Douro, on Friday, August 12 at 11 a.m. Interment at St. Peter's Cemetery at a later date.
