COURNEYEA, John Patrick

Peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre with his family by his side on Friday, August 7, 2026 in his 81st year.  Beloved husband of Gail (nee Payne) for 55 years.  Loving father of the late Carole Courneyea (1993) and son Jim and his wife Angela.  Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Anthony and great grandfather of Ezra.  

Son of the late Clarence Courneyea and Eileen (nee Hobbins). Dear brother of Mike Courneya and his wife Ann, the late Robert Courneyea and his wife Marlene (surviving), Marie Courneyea, Catherine and her husband Keith White, Mary and her husband Murray Houser, Gerard Courneyea and his wife Linda.  Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews.  In accordance with John’s wishes there was a private family Graveside Service held at Rosemount Memorial Gardens.  There will be a Reception to Celebrate John’s Life held at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 PM.  In memory of John and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre : https://ontarioturtle.ca/donate/
