Karen Fern Heibert née Smyth, 63, of Peterborough, Ontario, passed away unexpectedly on July 21, 2026.
Born on December 7, 1962, in East York, Ontario, Karen was the beloved daughter of Robert John Smyth and Dorothy Smyth, née Best.
She is survived by her daughters Amy and Robyn (Roozbeh), her sister Joyce Merritt, her brothers-in-law Richard Gasse and Gord Henwood, and several nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Linda Henwood and Beverly Gasse, her nephew Gordon Henwood, mother-in-law Flora Heibert, brothers-in-law Fred Merritt, William Heibert and Charles Heibert and sister-in-law Flora Heibert.
Karen will be remembered for being a loving mother who was a quiet, but kind soul who loved her family, cats Baby and Angel, music, dancing, nature, going on road trips, her porcelain doll and teddy bear collections and Tim Hortons. She made a lasting impact on her family and friends, and she will always be loved and remembered.
