Samuel Richard "Dick" Edwards

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Samuel Richard Wayne "Dick" Edwards, in his eighty-first year. Dear son of the late Mina Edwards. He was the beloved husband of Sadie (née Hann) for over sixty-one years.
 

Dick was a proud and devoted father to Jeff (Vida), Bob (Nadine), Rick (Laura), and the late Monica. Father-in-law of Quinton. He was a loving grandfather to Cole Shearer (Trisha), Chakka White, Tyrone Sheppard (Jessica), Andrea MacKenzie (AJ), Zachary Edwards (Haleigh), and Samantha Oates. He was also an adored great-grandfather to Brooke, Kaycee, Naomi, Jaxon, Bennett, Brynnli, Nash, Rowyn, and Riley.
 

He will be deeply missed by his cherished sisters, Katherine and Lynda, and was predeceased by his siblings Yvonne, Dawn, Frances, Mel, Thomas, and Jim.
Countless in-laws, nieces, and nephews will forever treasure the moments they shared and the memories they created together.
 

All who had the pleasure of knowing Dick will remember his deep love for family, his laughter, quick wit, and his gift for storytelling.
 

Friends and family are invited to join in a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gathering Space at 431 Hiawatha Line, Hiawatha First Nation. Private family interment at Hiawatha Cemetery to follow.
