It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Shane Robert Walsh on Monday August 3rd at the age of 45. Shane was born on November 11, 1980, in Peterborough, Ontario, to Robert Walsh and Judy Nisbett (predeceased). Shane will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Kaydance Walsh, who was the pride and joy of his life. He will also be deeply missed by his father, Robert Walsh; his sister, Tracey (Todd); his stepmother, Sandra DiIlio; and his stepbrother, Matthew O'Neill (Jill). Shane was a proud uncle and will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephew, Dan, Taylor, and Laurie. He will also be greatly missed by his many cousins, close friends, and all those whose lives he touched through his kindness, friendship, and sense of humor. His faithful dog, Yogi will undoubtedly miss his constant companion. Shane was a talented athlete who played hockey, golf, lacrosse, and baseball. While he enjoyed many sports throughout his life, golf and fishing became his favorite pastimes and greatest passions in his later years. Shane will be remembered for the many memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered by all who loved him. Many thanks to John, Adam and Mike for their support to Shane. "Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and forever dear." May he rest in peace. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Shane’s memory are invited to donate to Lakefield Animal Welfare Society (LAWS) or a charity of their choice. A celebration of Shane’s Life will be held at a later date.
