Sharon Tuttle Obituary

Sharon Linda Tuttle would like to let you know her work here is done. Everything is in its place and has been completed with precision.
Having proudly served the city of Peterborough for over 30 years, she was very particular about balancing payroll and doing things correctly the first time.  All who knew her can say they have been held to that same high standard, and felt her "wrath with a wink" (as if that wink would soften the blow of her motherly scorn). She loved every single person she worked with over the years and made many more friends than coworkers.
Sharon enjoyed retirement only a few months before going back to work and crunching numbers doing taxes. Finally after deciding it’s time to hang up her calculator she switched to counting pennies, or should we say watching them disappear in the new Peterborough casino slot machines. Hey, what’s a payroll gal to do if not enjoy herself paying other people!
Sharing her love, warmth and compassion with her two granddaughters, Aisla and Finnleigh was something she truly cherished. Being an incredible mother and proud single parent of her son Kelly-Jay was her greatest accomplishment. She would often reflect that "we didn’t have much, but we always made do.”  Those close knew her to be a 6 a.m. hockey practice parent, a sideline cheering soccer Mom, and of course a second mother to all her son's friends. She kept all kids on the “straight and narrow” (her words) with that motherly “wrath with a wink” that all came to know and love.
She truly loved the big city, and on every visit her loving (and patient) husband Wayne heard endless stories of growing up in Toronto, learned the name of every single street, and how it made her feel so alive.
Sharon passed away peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 in her 74th year. Having left detailed instructions for how to celebrate and complete her journey of life, Sharon would like a private family send off to be held. Sister to Audrey Payne and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews.  She is excited about her reunion with her mother Ida Klein, sister Joan Fuller, cousin Maureen and so many more loved ones she hasn’t seen in a long time.
We will always remember her warmth, smile and energy, her love for family and friends, and of course that work ethic she was so very proud of. She touched many hearts and made a difference in so many lives on her journey. She would not want anyone to be sad, but instead celebrate her life, and if so inclined, have a shot of J&B, heck make it a double (her words)!
