Violetta "Vie" Taylor Obituary

TAYLOR, Violetta May (nee Knott)

It is with great sadness that the family of Violetta May Taylor announces her passing after a valiant fight with Breast Cancer and Dementia, on Saturday, May 29, 2021 in her 85th year at Peterborough Extendicare.  Vie was the beloved wife of the late Orville Taylor (September 2006). “Now their love will always be together”. Vie will be lovingly remembered by her children Orville Taylor (Carley), Sandi Pritchard (Gary), Samson Taylor and Rod Taylor (Kari).  She was adored by her 5 grandchildren Gary Pritchard (Stephanie), Christopher Pritchard, Jacob Taylor, Chelsea Taylor, and Clayton Taylor (Gywn), and her great grandchildren Emily and Ethan Pritchard.  Beloved Aunt of Irvan Taylor (Barb). Vie loved her Toronto Maple Leafs, they gave her many happy years of cheering them on with our dad.  Maybe this year will be the year Mom and the Leafs will win the Stanley Cup.  You and Dad can watch them from above and cheer, louder “Go Leafs Go”.  Mom loved her life in Peterborough, having moved here from Port aux Basque Nfld.  She met and married our Dad in 1955 and together they raised 4 children in a loving home on Bethune Street. We were blessed to have great neighbours, friends and family thru the years. Our parents made sure we always knew we were loved.  Thank you Mom and Dad for always putting your children and then your grandchildren first.  We know that you would have spoiled your great grandchildren Emily and Ethan. The family of Vie Taylor would like to extend their heartfelt Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Peterborough Extendicare for the dedication and the love they gave Mom during her battle with Breast Cancer and Dementia.  Peterborough Extendicare rose above and beyond themselves in providing comfort and care for her.  With all of the Covid -19 protocols, keeping everyone safe, healthy and secure was always their #1 goal.  We will always be grateful.  “You never know how strong you are until you have no choice But to be Strong” Due to Covid -19 restrictions, a celebration of Vie’s Life will held in the individual hearts of family and friends.  In keeping with Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  Donations in memory of Vie and in lieu of flowers, can be made to the charity of your choice, or the next time we get to dine out, Smile at your waitress/server, leave your tip and say this is in memory of Vie our favorite waitress from the Churchill and Empress Restaurants.  God Bless us all.  Online condolences may be made at www.highlandpark funeralcentre.com
