William Davis of Peterborough, Ontario, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, at Peterborough Regional Hospital, with his wife, son, and daughter-in-law by his side. Born on October 30, 1932, in Peterborough, Bill lived nearly his entire life in the city he loved.

He was the devoted husband of Joan Davis, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage. Bill was a proud father to Kelly Davis (and his wife Heather) and to Cindy Davis (predeceased). He was a cherished grandfather who remained especially close to Olivia and Marlow, who brought him great joy. He was also the brother of Nelson and Tom (both predeceased).

Known for his reputation as a hard worker, Bill was employed at Raybestos for over 35 years. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he held a special passion for the Peterborough Petes and followed the team with dedication through the years. He enjoyed going to the gym and was a YMCA member for 57 years. He also enjoyed visiting Florida in the winters.

Bill was liked by all who met him. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his strong work ethic, his love of family, and his enduring loyalty to the Petes. He will be deeply missed by Joan, Kelly, Heather, Olivia, Marlow, many nieces and nephews, and all who knew him.

The family is extremely grateful for the compassion and care Bill received from the many doctors and nurses in the palliative care unit, along with the many PSWs on whom the family depended. A special mention goes to Dr. Emily Hughes, who demonstrated exceptional professionalism and dedication to Bill’s care, and to nurse Courtney for her guidance and empathy during Bill’s final hours.

Visitation will take place at Highland Park Funeral Centre on Thursday, July 30th from 12:00pm to 2:00pm followed by a Memorial Service in the Highland Chapel at 2:00pm. A  reception will follow in the Highland Reception Centre. Interment Little Lake Cemetery. Donations may be made to Hospice, Peterborough Regional Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
